Every single person who uses Twitter should regularly delete their old tweets, especially if it has lost its value.
Twitter, is a very popular social networking site and microblogging platform. Since its a microblogging platform it allows messages of 280 characters or less.
If you’re on Twitter, it’s a good idea to re-visit your tweets and take precautions around your tweet history.
Because finding yourself in troubled water over an old tweet or a controversial remark you fired off absentmindedly is practically waiting for disaster to happen.
Here’s how to delete your old tweets.
There are many online services designed to help you manage your Twitter history and wipe it clean.
Some are free, and some charge a subscription fee. Perhaps the most popular of these services is TweetDelete, which is a free web tool that lets you both delete your Twitter history and set a timer for the deletion of future tweets.
Another free service is TwitWipe, which effectively does the same thing. If you’re looking for something more robust, you can use a paid service like TweetDeleter or TweetEraser.
But I prefer to use Tweeter itself to delete old tweets, so I’m sure my tweet is gone for good.
1st.Step: Log on to your Twitter account.
2nd Step: Go to Advanced search settings. Under the Advanced search box, you will get the following options.

Any of these words
4. Example: cats dogs · contains either “cats” or “dogs” (or both)
None of these words
5. Example: cats dogs · does not contain “cats” and does not contain “dogs”
These hashtags
6. Example: #ThrowbackThursday · contains the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday
Language
Any language
7. Accounts
From these accounts
If you scroll further you will see more options for example sent to whom, sent in reply to, replies, links, even dates.
To find and delete your old tweets you need to fill either serial #1 if you can remember the exact phrase you twitted or option#3 just a single word of the tweet.
Next option #7 enter your twitter user name and then click on search. This is important or twitter will display all tweets matching the word or phrase you entered.
Twitter will display all your old tweets matching the word or phrase you searched for.
On the top right corner of the selected tweet that you want to delete click on the down arrow, you get the option to delete the tweet.
Twitter will ask you to confirm, “Delete tweet?” click on Delete.
That’s it your old tweet will be deleted. With this method, you can search and delete all your old tweets from your Twitter account.
